Walter Allen Rabon, 69, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.

Mr. Rabon was born September 29, 1954, in Catawba County. He was the son of the late Burgess William Rabon and Ruby Barger Rabon. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School Class of 1972. Mr. Rabon was known as one of the best welders around. He was a welder for over 40 years.

Walter was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw. He and his wife Donna were devoted soulmates. Through life’s joys and challenges, they faced every moment hand-in-hand, exemplifying the true meaning of a lifelong partnership. Mr. Rabon enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones and will be missed dearly by everyone, including his beloved dog, Sadie.

Along with his parents, Mr. Rabon was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Rabon.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Rabon; daughters, Karen Rabon, Tammy Perdue (Eric) and Miranda Perkins (Tony); grandchildren, Makayla, Chase, Andon, Ella, and Anthony; and his dear fur baby Sadie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February. 13, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. also on Tuesday, February 13, at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Statesville.
