The Union Grove Ruritan Club will host a winter ham breakfast and candidates forum on Saturday, February 17, at the Union Grove Community Center.
The event, which begins at 7 a.m. and runs until 10 a.m., will feature country ham, sausage, liver mush, eggs, biscuits, and stewed apples, plus coffee and various bottled drinks. The cost of the meal is a reasonable donation.
At 8 a.m., the Ruritan Club will open up the floor to Iredell County political candidates who will be encouraged to give a five-minute “stump speech.” Individuals with questions are encouraged to meet with candidates after all of the speeches.
The Union Grove Community Center is located at 1869 West Memorial Highway in Union Grove.
The Union Grove Ruritan Club is a non-profit organization and a chapter of the Ruritan National, which seeks to promote fellowship, goodwill and community service. Union Grove Ruritan Club projects have provided scholarships to area high school students, promoted civic pride and offered community service to the Union Grove community, and has sponsored a number of civic events including the 2022 Union Grove Spring Fling, a Fourth of July Breakfast, and a recent tribute to veterans.
