Judith Ann Bumgarner Schellhorn, “Judy” or “Grandma”, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of San Jose, Calif., went peacefully to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born June 1, 1940, in Milford, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrald Schellhorn; son, Douglas Schellhorn; and grandson, Justin Suerdieck.

Judy’s love was fierce when it came to her four children, and she considered them her greatest achievements. She relished time spent entertaining family and friends, always cooking more than enough delicious food. There was always room for one more at her table.

She leaves lasting memories to be cherished by her survivors, including her daughters, Beth Suerdieck and Debra Morrow; son, Jerry Schelhorn and wife Michele; grandsons, Joshua, Jeremy, Matthew, and Michael; granddaughters, Dorthy and Judy; great-grandchildren, Stella and Jackson; and host of friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the Hospice nurses for their unwavering compassionate and supportive care that was provided. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the Hospice & Palliative Care Services.
