Mary Ellen Wrightsman, 83, of Statesville, N.C., went home to our Lord Jesus and Savior on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 8:30 in the morning. Mary was born on Sunday, June 2, 1940, in Bloomington, Ind., to Roscoe and Gladys Miller. Mary was raised by her adopted parents, Frances and Lowell Smith, due to the untimely death of her parents. She was a twin and one of six sisters and one step-sister.
She was employed at RCA in Bloomington, Ind., for a few years. She also helped her husband Bud to farm their land. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Albert (Bud) Wrightsman. They were married for 62 years. They had two children, Scheryl and Jeff.
Mary and Albert enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, anything to do with horses, riding, camping, farming their land, sports, and riding their motorcycles. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She was a very devoted woman of faith. You would often throughout the day find her reading the word of God and praying for family and friends. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and play the piano. She was a member of and attended Diamond Hill Baptist Church with her daughter Scheryl, son-in-law Ron, and grandson Travis.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wrightsman; her parents; her son, Jeff Wrightsman; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Clines; her twin sister, Helen; and three other sisters
Mary is survived by her daughter, Scheryl Clines(Ron); daughter-in-law, Tammy Wrightsman; grandchildren, Craig Clines (Jessica), Travis Clines, Chad Wrightsman (Melissa), and Kayla Wrightsman; great grandchildren, Kyle Clines (Lydia), Carlynn Clines, Chad Wrightsman Jr., Salina Wrightsman, and Savanna Wrightsman and her sister, Gwen Phillips.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Diamond Hill Baptist Church beginning with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Pastor Larry Holleman will be officiating as well as her grandson Travis Clines.
