Norman Reynolds Alexander, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 19, 2024. He was born on April 13, 1934, in Iredell County to the late Ira Gilbert Alexander and Annie Bell Sherrill Alexander.

Norman was a lifetime member of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where he would oversee the UMC men’s group for the BBQ each year with his special sauce and slaw.

He enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, working on lawn mowers and weed eaters. He loved cookouts at the lake, making peanut butter ice cream and riding motorcycles. Norman was a loving husband, father, paw paw and great paw paw and loved the family’s dogs. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Davies Alexander; sisters, Hazel Shoemaker and Theresa Lyon; and son, Timothy Alexander Pedwell.

Those left to cherish Norman’s memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Brenda Alexander; sons, Mike Alexander, Randy Alexander and wife Michelle; daughter, Sandra Alexander (Randy Cooper); grandchildren, Cristy Farr (Tim), Stacy Mulligan (Dylan), Michael Blake Alexander (Chelsea), and Johnathan Pedwell; great grandchildren, Maggie Farr, Kohen Farr, Willow Mulligan, and Havynn Alexander; two step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Alice Alexander.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Mark Pitts officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
