James Jonah Ladd Jr., 84, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lena Ladd; daughters, Lena Diane Vestal (Tim), and Rebecca Gaye Ladd; son, James Junior Ladd; grandchildren, Melissa Hall Childress, Desiree Starr Flowers, Tabitha Sue James, Timothy Ray Thompson, and Anthony Brent Thompson; and 12 great grandchildren.

James was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hamptonville, N.C.

A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2616 Buck Shoals Road, Hamptonville, N.C., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
