Mrs. Melinda Ann Sherrill Younger, 80, of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday evening, February 1, 2020, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on November 20, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Frank Henry Sherrill and Lillian Jane Gilleland Sherrill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Younger, and a brother, Jeff Sherrill, in addition to her parents.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Front St. Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, her dog, Harley, trips to the beach, flower gardening and feeding her birds.

Survivors include a son, Jody Younger; two daughters, Donna Younger Stull (Clifford) and Rhonda Younger Keever (Chris); along with three brothers, Charles, Jimmy and David Sherill; and two sisters, Carol Duke and Joan Karriker. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
