Two suspects have been identified in the theft of a four-wheeler from a residence off Whitney Lane in western Iredell County.
On Saturday, April 6, Deputy H. English responded to Whitney Lane in response to a reported larceny of a four-wheeler, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.
During the ensuing investigation, Deputy English learned that the four-wheeler was seen at the Love’s Truck Stop located off Mocksville Highway in Statesville. The deputy later reviewed footage from surveillance cameras that a showed male and female make a transaction involving the four-wheeler, according to the news release.
Deputy English gathered evidence that the stolen four-wheeler was located in Caldwell County. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office helped locate and recover the four-wheeler.
The suspects were identified as Preston Levi Kovanda, 35, of Wilson Street NW, Lenoir, and Tammy Lee Horne, 38, of Old Johns River Road, Collettsville, according to the news release.
Both suspects face the following charges: Felony Conspire to Commit Felony Larceny and two counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Kovanda faces an additional charge of Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle.
Deputy English obtained warrants for the arrests of Kovanda and Horne and entered them as “Wanted” in national crime databases. If you have any information on the whereabouts of the ssuspects, call the ICSO at 704-878-3180 or submit a tip via the Iredell Sheriff app.
