Bonita Illona Allison, 72, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Affectionately known as “Bonnie,” she was born July 24, 1951, to the late James and Mary A. Allison.
Bonita attended Morningside High School, Statesville Senior High, Mitchell Community College and Catawba College. She was employed by Bassett Furniture for years, and later established a career in healthcare. Prior to becoming impaired, she was employed by Maple Leaf Nursing home and RHA Health Services for several years.
In addition to her parents, Bonita was preceded in death by her brother, Harlen Alexander; a sister, Sylvia A. Allison; and brothers-in-law, Earl Smith and Samuel Summers.
She leaves to cherish her loving children, daughter Stephanie Allison of Statesville, N.C., and son, Nicholas Allison of the home; grandchildren, Kennan Merritt of Wadesboro, N.C., Jasmine Allison of Statesville, N.C., Myeisha Allison of Statesville, N.C.; great grandchildren, Zay’vion Allison, Ivy Pickett and Kayden Merritt; three Sisters, Helen A. Summers, Carolyn Allison, and Carla Allison; all of Statesville, N.C.; three brothers, James Allison (Sylvia) of Statesville, N.C., John Allison (Tammy) of Statesville, N.C., and Keith Allison (Tiffany) of Kernersville, N.C.; sister-in-law, Clara Alexander of Baltimore, Md.; special friends, Peggy Murdock, Patricia Miller, Claretta Boller, Margaret Campbell, Annie R. White and Cynthia Carson; and a host of special nieces, nephews’ cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 19, 2024, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, in the chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m.
