Shirley Jean Harrington Lyalls, 68, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Shirley was born on February 6, 1956, in Alexander County, N.C., to the late Claude Walter Harrington and Ada Lois Tedder Harrington. She was a graduate of Alexander Central High School. Shirley was a member of Command Baptist Church and worked as a customer service operator for Answer Phone of America. She enjoyed reading, her church family and her grandbabies.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Warren Lyalls.

Those left to cherish the memory of Shirley include her two sons, Jeremy Webster (Rachel) and Benjamin Lyalls; five grandchildren, Anastasia Day, Kaleb Webster, Christian Webster, Christian Yount and Zayden Connor Lyalls; and her great granddaughter, Evelyn Day. Also surviving are her two sisters, Lois Williams (Edsel) and Brenda Novotny (Bill); and her numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at Command Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Whitman officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Shirley’s memory to Command Baptist Church, 658 Island Ford Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
