The 2024 Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series will kick off in Downtown Statesville on Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m.
Gump Fiction, the Ultimate 90’s Experience, will take the stage for the first concert of the season. A high-octane, nostalgia-fueled time-machine, this group will take you back to the days of dial-up internet, slap bracelets, Tamagotchi pets, and the music you forgot you loved.
Gump Fiction is your chance to go back in time and rock out to your favorite A-side tracks, from Nirvana to Britney Spears, and everywhere in between. These four guys and a girl bring an obsession with all things 1990s and an ability to engage the audience. Since 2012, the band has performed hundreds of shows across the world, from small corporate events to large festivals with crowds of over 25,000.
The Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series offers free entertainment to Statesville’s residents, neighbors, and visitors in Downtown Statesville from May through October and features music of all styles. The series is made possible by the presenting sponsorship of Flow Automotive of Statesville.
The concerts are held in Downtown Statesville on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, water, and food will be available for purchase beginning at 5 p.m. Bring your chairs and enjoy a great night of music, but remember pets, outside beverages, and coolers are not allowed.
Start your evening by visiting the welcome tent sponsored by New Image Services and Randy Marion at the entrance to purchase your tokens before heading over to the beverage tent. Red Buffalo Brewing will be on hand pouring their well-loved Clocktower IPA, Blue’sberry Ale, Angry Brunette Black Ale, Lemon Strawberry Shandy and Blueberry Seltzer.
Andrea’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shop along with Wilson’s Weenie Wagon and Mullin’s Madness food trucks will be serving food, sweets, water & soft drinks.
This year each Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 concert will support a non-profit organization, offering them a booth to share information about their program and collecting donations on their behalf.
This week’s event will be dedicated to benefiting Rainbow Kidz, a unique community resource provided by Hospice of Iredell County, dedicated to meeting the special needs of children and their families during grief or loss. Rainbow Kidz provides a wide range of services, facilitated by licensed clinical social workers, completely free of charge to families and schools. To learn more about Rainbow Kidz and its impactful initiatives, reach out to Leigh Ann Darty, the director of Rainbow Kidz, at 704-873-4719, or via email at leighannd@hoic.org.
