The Mooresville Police Department and the Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman will hold a National Police Week Ceremony on Wednesday, May 15.

The event, which will be held on the lawn of Town Hall, 413 N. Main Street, will begin at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will honor and remember all law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, including MPD’s three fallen officers—Chief of Police James Rimmer (December 7, 1938), Detective Lieutenant Larry Barger (July 13, 1974), and K9 Officer Jordan Sheldon (May 4, 2019).

The ceremony is open to the public. National Police Week is May 12-18. National Peace Officer Memorial Day is observed on May 15.
