Jean Carol Whitehead passed away at home on May 10, 2024, of natural causes. She was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on October 21, 1927, to Frank and Alice Connelly Vogt. She graduated from Bloomfield High School and attended Douglas College. She lived in Cedar Grove and Little Falls, N.J., before moving to Mooresville, N.C., in 2015.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Marilyn Taylor, her daughter Wendy O’Donnell, and grandson Brian O’Donnell.

She is survived by her sister Virginia McCurley, brother Robert Vogt (Beth), daughter Barbara Entwistle (Mark), son William Whitehead (Maureen), and grandchildren Kevin, Dean and Catherine, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her son-in-law James O’Donnell (Betty) and their son Hugh.

She retired from Roche Pharmaceutical company in Nutley, N.J., as an Executive Secretary (CPS). She was a winning tennis player in the Roche and Cedar Grove tennis tournaments, was a member of the Montclair YMCA Trailblazers Hiking Club, and enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles.

The family would like to thank the many care providers she had over the past several years and especially Cassie.
