Deborah “Debbie” Austin Nichols, 72, of Cleveland, N.C., passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July 11, 1951, in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Robert and Margie Austin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lee Austin, Donnie Austin, and Tracy Austin.

She is survived by her husband, David Nichols Sr; children, Laura Ferrin, Tracy Newcomb (Kenneth), David Nichols, Jr. (Jessica), and Joshua Nichols; brothers, Robert Austin and Richard Austin (Brenda); grandchildren, Taylor Hughes, Kaitlyn Long, Melanie Nichols, Annabelle Nichols, and Trey Nichols; great granddaughter, Keira Madison Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
