Mr. Joseph “Joe” Willie Sharpe, 73, of Olin, N.C., died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at his home. Born in Iredell County on October 3, 1950, he was a son of the late Ruffus Sharpe and Lilly Summers Sharpe.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Buster and Jim Sharpe; and sisters, Elizabeth Shoemaker, Norma Shoemaker, Mary Shoemaker, and Mae Walker.

He loved to “wheel and deal,” farm, NASCAR, old cars, spending time with family and friends, and he loved to have fun.

Survivors include a brother, John Sharpe (Margie), and several nieces and nephews that he was close to, and many special friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, at the Olin Cemetery with Pastor Roger Holland officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
