Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Jeff James was recently named the 2023-2024 Administrator of the Year by the N.C. Association of Scholastic Activities (NCASA).

The NCASA Administrator of the Year Award was one of eleven awards presented during this event, which was held on Saturday, May 13, at the HES-ESS North Carolina Showcase at Mac Gray Auditorium in Statesville.

In addition to receiving this award, James was also unanimously elected to the position of president by the NCASA Board of Directors.

“Dr. James was nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected unanimously by the NCASA Board of Directors as their president for the 2024-2025 school year,” explained Leon Pfeiffer, executive director of NCASA. “He showed great leadership throughout the 2023-2024 school year, but especially in his active hands-on support of the HES-ESS North Carolina Showcase.

“His leadership directly led to hosting and improved execution of the event and recruitment of ten new event sponsors,  making this event the biggest fundraiser in the history of NCASA.”

The NCASA Administrator of the Year Award begins with a nomination process during March and April. The Awards Committee reviews all the nominations while considering the leadership and performance of an individual. The support shown by James of scholastic events not just in Iredell-Statesville Schools but in North Carolina was stressed in his nominations and ultimately led to naming him this honor.
