Mrs. Hilda Williams Younger, 91, wife of Dwight Cole Younger of Union Grove, N.C., passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Taylor Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Mullins, Rev. Roger Redmond and Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Hilda was born May 20, 1933, in Iredell County, N.C., to David Lawrence and Lacy Leola Smith Williams. She was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church. Hilda played the piano at Taylor Springs Baptist Church for over 70 years, and she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Ferne Caudill, Carolyn Younger and Willie Sue Kilby.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Dwight Cole Younger of the home; a daughter; Ann Williams and husband Dennis of Statesville; two sons; Cole Younger and wife Zee of North Wilkesboro, and Todd Younger and wife Diane of Union Grove; five grandchildren; Travis Younger and wife Christie, Morgan Houck and husband Ryan, Evan Younger and fiancée Rhiannon Salem, Nathan Williams and wife Ivy, Hannah Williams; and five great grandchildren, Colin Younger, Camille Younger, Reece Younger, Ryleigh Houck and (due in September) Georgia Ann Williams.
