James “Jimmy” McElligott, 68, who resided in Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020.
He was born on April 17, 1951, in Bronx, N.Y., to the late Edward and Mary Jane Mead McElligott. Jim was an executive chef at Washington Street Caters in New York, N.Y. He enjoyed making people smile with his food. He loved to cook with Madison and golf with Connor, who called him Poppie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Eileen Scanlan McElligott; daughter, Rayna Maguire and husband Paul; grandchildren, Connor and Madison; nephew, Shawn Walsh; and his beloved dog, Charlie.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 14, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
