Eleanor “Ellie” Louise Carlson passed away after a long illness on June 9, 2024, at the age of 81 in Mooresville, N.C.

She was born on January 1, 1943, in Northborough, Mass., to the late Willard and Enola Benton. She graduated from Algonquin Regional High School and went on to lead a fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Benton.

Ellie is survived by her son Paul Schnare Sr. (Sandy); daughter Donna O’Kane (Marc); sister Barbara Nickerson; grandchildren Paul Schnare Jr. (Brianna), and Kyle, Katelyn, Bryanna; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Howard Street Cemetery, 60 Howard Street, Northborough, MA 01532 to honor Ellie’s life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in her memory.
