The Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series returns to Downtown Statesville on Friday, June 14, with Gump Fiction, the Ultimate 90’s Experience. The show, which was originally rained out on May 3, is free and open to the public.
Gump Fiction is a high-octane, nostalgia-fueled time-machine with one totally radical destination: the 1990s. Their performance will take you back to the days of dial-up internet, slap bracelets, Tamagotchi pets, and the music you forgot you loved, including Nirvana, Britney Spears, and everything in between.
Since 2012, the band has performed hundreds of shows across the world, ranging from small, corporate events to high-profile festivals with crowds of over 25,000.
The Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series offers free entertainment to Statesville’s residents, neighbors, and visitors in Downtown Statesville from May through October and features music of all styles. The series is also made possible by the presenting sponsorship of Flow Automotive of Statesville.
The concerts are held in Downtown Statesville on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, water, and food will be available for purchase beginning at 5 p.m. Bring your chairs and enjoy a great night of music. Pets, outside beverages and coolers are not allowed.
Each Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 concert supports a non-profit organization, offering them a booth to share information about their program and collecting donations on their behalf. This week’s event will benefit Rainbow Kidz, which meets the special needs of children and their families during grief or loss. Rainbow Kidz provides a wide range of services, facilitated by licensed clinical social workers, completely free of charge to families and schools. To discover more about Rainbow Kidz, contact Director Leigh Ann Darty at 704-873-4719 or leighannd@hoic.org.
Start your evening by visiting the welcome tent sponsored by New Image Services and Randy Marion at the entrance to purchase your tokens before heading over to the beverage tent. Red Buffalo Brewing will be serving up Clocktower IPA, Blue’sberry Ale, Angry Brunette Black Ale, Mouthy Blonde Ale and Strawberry Mango Seltzer.
Andrea’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shop along with Wilson’s Weenie Wagon and Foxy Roxy Pizza food trucks will be serving food, sweets, water & soft drinks.
