Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Jeff James on Friday announced the appointment of Nicholas Lord as the principal of West Iredell Middle School. The Board of Education approved the appointment on June 10.
“I’m confident that Mr. Lord will lead West Iredell Middle School to provide the best educational environment for all students,” James said.
Lord currently serves as an assistant principal at Lake Norman High School. He began his career in 2007 as a science teacher with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and continued in that role until 2013, when he served as a dean of students.
Lord has served as an assistant principal for 10 years in Cabarrus County Schools and Iredell-Statesville Schools. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science education from State University of New York at Fredonia and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.
“It is an absolute honor and privilege to lead the students and staff at West Iredell Middle School,” Lord said. “I am looking forward to working with a dedicated staff and community and can’t wait to meet our students in August. Go Mustangs!”
Lord will begin his new role on July 1.
