Barbara Ann Young, beloved daughter of the late Victor Young and Pauline Patterson Young, was born in Iredell County on March 10, 1954. She departed this life on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her residence.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Abraham Strickland; four brothers, T Ross Young, Fred Young, Floyd Young and William Young; one sister, Lucille Moten (Clarence); a grandson, Davidson Robinson Sr.; brother-in-law, Bishop Joe Byers; and one siter-in-law, Mary Francis Young.

Barbara attended the Iredell County Schools. She loved singing and posting scriptures on Facebook. She loved her family dearly, being around them and having lots of fun. Barbara will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, two sons, Robert Byers (Myra) and Marcus Byers; one daughter, Tawanda James; one brother, Howard Young of Florida; two sisters, Melvin Norman (Richard) of Statesville and Overseer Virginia Byers of Troutman; eight grandchildren, Enrica (Dimishi) Young “Bryd,” Tyrice Young, Jessica Dalton, Angel Young, Rokesha Daniels, Justin Carruth, Jada Byers and Derrick Hargrave; and one godson, Ty’ Chon.
