John Franklin Williams, 68, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Rowan County, N.C., on November 27, 1955, to the late Roosevelt Angel and Jean Gladden Williams. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jai Williams and Pierr D’Mario Williams Jr.; his grandparents, Gene and Sara Williams, four brothers, Jerry Chambers, Mark Chambers, James Angel, and Andrew Angel; and two sisters, Ruth Mattox and Marjorie Rankin.
John worked for several years as a forklift driver. His hobbies included fishing, working on cars and lawnmowers, and listening to R&B and rap music. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife and the love of his life for 30 years, Andrea Clark Williams; a daughter, Adrienne Yvonne; four sons, Algernon Christie, Anthony Williams (Nakira Blakenly), Jonathan Williams, and Mario Williams (Teresa); three brothers, Richard Chambers (Susan), Melvin Chambers (Crystal), and Frank J. Chambers; a sister, Sally Angel; eight grandchildren; and Tabitha Teasley and Delois McDonalds; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and neighbors.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Calvary Presbyterian Church USA, at 12:30 p.m. The family will visit with friends from 12 to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
