Michael Eugene Southard, 56, passed away June 19, 2024, in his sleep at his residence.
He was born February 24, 1968, in Iredell County to the late Ramon Southard and the late Barbara G. Southard. He had one brother, the late Scott Douglass Southard.
Michael, also known as Pokey, was known for his wicked sense of humor and spent most of his life working for the cable company. He spent countless hours playing Call of Duty and will surely be missed in the gaming universe.
Left to cherish his memories are his fiancée, Jennifer Hennessey; daughters, Barbara Southard (Timothy Huffman, Caitlyn Greenlee, Colby Southard, Cynthia Huffman), Tiffany Porter (Ted Porter, Jesse Yeomans, Oakley Porter, Everly Porter), and Jadyn Southard; son John Southard; stepmother, Betty Southard; and numerous other family members and friends.
Services will be held later.

My dad was an amazing man. He always knew what to do and what to say. For the entire almost 15 years of my life, he has been there for me. His goal everyday was to make me smile and no matter how bad of a day I had, he accomplished his goal. He was the best dad I could have ever asked for and I miss him more than anything. We share a last name, blood, and a stupid smirk. I will never forget how much his existence affected my life.
