Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region, Inc. is applying for United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service Housing Preservation Grant (USDA-RD-HCFP-HPG-2024) to complete repairs on qualifying owner-occupied homes in Iredell County outside of the City/Town limits of Statesville and Mooresville for low- to- moderate-income residents. These repairs allow homeowners to remain in their homes and help to preserve the community’s affordable housing stock. This program will not address work that is purely cosmetic in nature. Instead, the program looks to address these critical issues:
1. Conditions that pose imminent threats to their life and/or safety;
2. Provide accessibility modifications; and
3. Other repairs to prevent displacement
Repairs may include, but are not limited to: roof, electrical, plumbing, flooring, structural, kitchen, bathroom repairs, lead and asbestos remediation as needed to mitigate risk.
The public is welcomed to comment on the Statement of Activities for this application, which can be found at: habitatcltregion.org/statement-of-activities/. Comments can be sent to roring@habitatcltregion.org through July 28, 2024.
