Lillian Virginia “Ginny” Talbert Clontz, 88, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C.
Ginny was born on September 12, 1935, in Catawba County, N.C., to the late James Alvin Talbert and Eloise Virginia Holdsclaw Talbert. She was a graduate of Sherrills Ford High School. Ginny worked at Era Holthouser Co., Troutman Shirt Mill and J. Bear Child Development Center. She was a long-time member of Rocky Mount Church.
In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hewitt “Hugh” Clontz; and her brothers, Billy Ray Talbert and Larry Talbert.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lillian Renee C. Harkey (Fred) and Robert Eric Clontz (Christine); granddaughters, Cynthia Marie C. Lacoille (Erin), Shannon Nicole C. Toohey (Ben), and Katie Ellen H. Dishman (Tyler); and great grandchildren, Connor Lacoille, Adalynn Rife, Morgan Lacoille, Kaylee Toohey, Lucas Dishman, Emily Toohey, Jonah Dishman, Wesley Toohey and Lily Toohey (arriving soon). Also surviving are her siblings, Pat Mayberry (Clate), Joyce McConnell (David) and Boyce Talbert (Kathy).
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Rocky Mount Church from 2 to 3 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Georgianne Hartline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jurney’s Assisted Living, 1942 Van Haven Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.
