Louise Compton Johnson, 91, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on August 9, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., following an extended illness. Louise was born October 13, 1932, in Iredell County to the late Robert Compton and Hortense Christy Compton.
Louise was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Johnson; three brothers, Melvin Compton, Pete Compton and Joe Compton; and one sister, Barbara Ingram.
Survivors include three daughters, Kelly Dowell of the home. Robin Necci and husband Frank of Asheboro, Amy Gelsone and husband Gene of Toledo, Ohio; one son, Jeffery Johnson and wife Deborah of Knightdale; one sister, Betty Menscer of Statesville; three sisters-in-law, Betty Davis, Irene Compton and Patty Compton, all of Statesville; eight grandchildren, Sam Dowell and wife Cristina, Matt Dowell and wife Abbi, David Jackson, Melody Gelsone, Susan Goodbar and husband Daryl, Burke Johnson and wife Victoria, Jordan Johnson, and Faith Johnson; and three great grandchildren Caroline, Preston and Charlotte Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church. Pastor Dale Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
