Zane Ronald Lambert, 47, of Cleveland, N.C., died on Wednesday evening July 31, 2024, at his home.

Zane was born on May 27, 1977, in Geneva, N.Y. His father is Ronald Lambert (Tonya) and his mother is Terresa Menscer Lambert Trivette (Mike).

He graduated from North Iredell High School and obtained his associate degree in Criminal Justice from Mitchell Community College. Zane started work at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office as a sworn Special Deputy and then was hired as a full-time officer on road patrol.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by one brother, Brandon Lambert (Heather) of Mooresville; one niece, Annabelle McKeon of Mooresville; and one step brother, Jared Sibert (Mary), also of Cleveland; along with many other friends and family.

Zane had a great love of race cars and Dale Earnhardt Sr., having met Dale and obtained his signature at the North Wilkesboro race track on one visit. Zane was an avid gamer and shooter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Diamond Hill Baptist Church. There will be a visitation to greet family and friends from 2 to 3 p.m. with the memorial service to start at 3 p.m. The service will be conducted by Rev. Larry Holleman and Rev. Carl Williams. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diamond Hill Baptist Church.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville is in charge of arrangements.
