James Lester Price, 83, of Statesville, N.C., died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. James was born November 3,1940, to Herman and Maybelle Price in Lucama, N.C.

He was a member of Troutman Baptist Church. James proudly served from 1966-1994 as a Motor Carrier Officer with DMV Enforcement. After retirement, he worked at Manheim Auto Auction, Iredell Memorial Hospital in Security and was presently employed at Flow Automotive.

James enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and driving his golf cart. He also liked to keep a nice yard. Being a “foodie,” he loved to eat and try new foods. Most of all, he took pride in being a family man.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Rita Lawrence Price; son, Brian, and his wife Nikki and granddaughter Ava; along with his daughter, Angela McLain, and her children Wade and Erica; his brothers, Earl (Atha) Dennis (Lois); and sister Gayle Willoughby.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 26, at Troutman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. Officiating will be his son, Brian Price. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be given in his honor to Tunnels to Towers (t2t.org).
James was a believer in Christ and has reached his eternal home.
