Charles “Charlie” McDonald Jr., 87, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House. Born on March 30, 1937, in High Point, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles McDonald Sr. and Rose King McDonald.

Charlie attended Guilford College and Mars Hill College in High Point, N.C., and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Kewaunee Scientific Corporation in 1999, where he worked as a furniture finisher chemist.

Charlie married Audrey Jane Knight, who survives, in 1955. In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by two children, George Edwin McDonald of Minnesota and Heather McDonald of San Francisco, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Liam Joseph McDonald and Genieve “Evie” Rose Crovo.
