Marilyn Creasey Hinckley, 90, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her home. She was born on November 13, 1933, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Lester and Opal Pitts Creasey.

Marilyn attended Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville, where she lived the past 10 years. She lived in Bend, Ore., for 50 years prior to moving to North Carolina. Marilyn was an avid shopper and traveler, and she enjoyed farming, watching sunsets, hummingbirds, and attending the eagles lodge events.

Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John E. Hinckley, a WWII Purple Heart veteran.

Those left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her children, Linda Carey (Rick), Mike Manning (Sharon), Sharon Kiger (Jim), and Robert Manning; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Tara, Melissa, Errica, Michael, Cody, Tye, Christopher, and Kenneth; great grandchildren, Kendra, Isabella, Nicholai, Lochlann, Gunnerly, Andrew, and McKenzie; great-great grandchildren, Cole and Tye; great-great-great grandchildren, Aspen and Dominic and one on the way.

A Celebration of Life was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 131 Canopy Court, Mooresville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mitchell Mack Hospice House, 1325 Mecklenburg Highway, Mooresville, NC 28115; or Richards Coffee Shop Welcome Home Vets, 165 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115.
