On August 3, 1954, Mary Patricia Leiweke was born to Jack and Helen Leiweke, but she always preferred to go by Trish. She passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the age of 70.

She was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo., with her five siblings. Her life was touched by tragedy at a young age when she lost her mother to cancer. She learned to be resilient and to live happily every day. After meeting Butch Morrison while he was working with a traveling band, she moved to Statesville, N.C., and they married in 1984.

Trish never met a stranger. She left a lasting impression on others and those who were lucky to know her can attest to how special she was. She lived her life with so much joy, spreading love and humor whenever she could. Her greatest joy in life was achieved when she started having grandchildren. Four beautiful girls know her as “Bubbie,” and the love she has for them and all future grandchildren is insurmountable. She is survived by her husband Butch Morrison; her four children, Todd Morrison (Elizabeth), Emily Morrison (Bryan), Mackenzie Chapski (Brent), and Taylor Cook (Tyler); and her granddaughters, Carter, Elin, Mason, and Natalie. She is also survived by siblings, Terry Leiweke (Shelley), Tim Leiweke (Bernadette), Tod Leiweke (Tara), and Therese Foppe (Joe); and several loving nieces, nephews. She is also survived by soul sisters Lisa Cady and Beth Burrelsman, and an extended group of friends who became family that we lovingly call The St. Louis Family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Helen, father Jack, brother Tracey, nephew Peter, and granddaughter Nora.

A private celebration of life for our beautiful wife / mother / Bubbie / sister / friend will be held next Spring. As a family, we know how many people love her in our community, and we are organizing a local celebration as well. We will share those details once they are finalized.

Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family.
