Jerry Dean Wright, 82, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born in Pageland, S.C., on November 3, 1941, to the late Pierce Wright and Beulah Summerford. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Wright.

Jerry worked as a supervisor for United Merchants. He loved hunting, guns, and working and painting old cars. He served in the Army Reserves for 23 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Jerry D. Wright Jr.; two grandchildren, Trenton Wright (Telsey); a granddaughter, Kelsey Wright (Brianna); a great-grandson, Mason Wright; and a sister, Shirley Seacrest (Barry).

A gathering of friends will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
