Pearl Boan Sigmon, affectionately known as “Maw Pearl,” 86, of Statesville, N.C., died Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Chesterfield County, S.C., on November 23, 1937, to the late Earl Elijah Boan and Viola Watson Boan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Sigmon; and two brothers, JE Boan and Rudy Boan.

Pearl worked at Memory Lane, a card shop and bookstore, for 27 years. She made many friends while there. She was an avid reader.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Billy Sigmon; a daughter, Jackie Clodfelter (Don); three grandchildren, Joshua Sigmon (Leslie), Donald Clodfelter (Ashley), and Adam Clodfelter (Thomas); three great-grandchildren, Dalton Sigmon (Anna), Evie Clodfelter, and Elsie Clodfelter; and two brothers, Don Boan (Linda), and Burt Boan (Jane).

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2023, at 12 noon at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman with Pastor Dieter Punt officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service.
