The Mooresville Police Department has canceled the 2024 Afternoon Out Event scheduled for October 13 because so many individuals and resources involved in the event meeting critical emergency response needs in the hardest hit areas of Western North Carolina.

If individuals would like to contribute to relief efforts, several opportunities are listed below:

♦ Mooresville Fire-Rescue is teaming up with Mooresville Professional Fire Fighters – IAFF Local 4485 and Downtown Mooresville to collect donations on Saturday, October 5, at the Food Truck Festival. Drop off donations at the trailer at 128 N. Broad Street from 2 to 8:30 p.m. 

♦ NC211 has a list of verified drop off locations linked HERE. Both NC211 and parent organization United Way have real-time information for donors, volunteers, and also those seeking relief or supplies.

Hurricane Helene Airlift Relief is operating out of Statesville Airport and has verified collection sites across the county. Please visit their Facebook Page for the most updated list of needs and drop-off locations.

This is not an all-inclusive list, and there are many organizations supporting relief efforts.
