Lynda Sue Barbee McDaniels, 67, of Conover, N.C., passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., following an extended illness. Sue was born July 12, 1957, in Cabarrus County to the late Marvin Barbee and Phyllis White Barbee. She was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as a 911 dispatcher. She enjoyed the outdoors, going to the beach and mountains. Sue was outgoing and adored her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Everette Barbee.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney McDaniels (Kelly Hiott) of Mocksville, and Justin McDaniels and wife Serenity of Catawba; one daughter, Peche Welborn, and husband Jamie of Olin; two brothers, Danny Barbee and wife Pam, and Larry Barbee and wife Anna, all of Alabama; one sister, Brenda Kay Hinson, and husband Robert, of Fort Mill, S.C.; ten grandchildren, Kayla Myers, Haley Wicker, Brittany Wicker, Maggie McDaniels, Colton McDaniels, Macie McDaniels, Alyssa Stevenson, Austin Dancy, Katianna London and Arrabella McDaniels; and four great-grandchildren, Haiden Myers, Haisley Wicker, Haven Myers, and Kouvr Wicker.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Stony Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
