Thomas Edward Baron, a distinguished contractor from Mooresville, N.C., peacefully passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 78. Tom was born on June 21, 1946, in Rhode Island to the late Ernest J. Baron and Florence Cunningham Baron. His work in the construction industry was admired by many, and his dedication to his craft left a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 aboard the USS Tidewater AD31.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Baron.
Tom was a devoted husband to his wife of 59 years, Pamela Baron; a loving father to Kelly Baron, Sarah Stanier (Robert), and Joshua Baron; and a cherished grandfather to Kaleb, Tucker, Jayden, Abigail, and Mason. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister, Mary Baron Poston (Bud); and brothers-in-law, Howard and Peter Dibble, along with niece, Paige; nephews, Craig, Rick and Christopher; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tom’s memory will forever be cherished by his family as he was a phenomenal son, a faithful husband, a wonderful father, and an incredible grandfather. The impact he made during his lifetime will never be forgotten. The family expresses their gratitude to Iredell Memorial Hospital and Gordon Hospice House of Statesville for the exceptional care they provided to Tom during his time of need.
Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Tom’s life will be held at his family’s home in Charleston, S.C., in the near future.
