Samuel Dale Frogge, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. Sam was born in Decatur County, Ind., on March 6, 1944, to the late Marvin William Frogge and Mary Adele Wickens Frogge.

He worked at JC Steele & Son for 15 years and was also a dairy farmer. He was the chairmen of Iredell County Bee Committee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Scotty Frogge, and one brother, James Hugh Frogge.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Donna Phares Frogge; two sons, Jim Frogge of Olin, N.C., and Todd and wife Jan of Texas; one daughter Samantha West and husband Brian of Statesville; two brothers, John Frogge of Indiana and Maurice Frogge of Florida; two sisters, Mary McDowell Key West, Fla., and Kathy Shaw of Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, Natasha Frogge, Stephanie Pelletier and husband Paul, Lauren Jackson and husband Michael, Sammy Frogge, Shana Griffee and husband Sam, Natalie Nino and Sheila Frank, Katrina Faith Lou Frogge, Jimmy Campbell, Patrick West, Matthew West and wife Ashley, Cody Frogge, Jazmyn West, and Regina Trinity Dawn Frogge; and 10 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville NC 28625.
