FROM STAFF REPORTS

A Mooresville Police Department officer faces two misdemeanor charges following his arrest on Tuesday.

Officer David Stephen Brashear, 45, of Mt. Holly was arrested and charged with accessing computers and resist, delay and obstruct an officer, according to an MPD news release.

An investigation into Brashear’s conduct was initiated following a report of misconduct involving a woman in connection with an encounter at a local establishment, police said.

During the investigation, the MPD determined Brashear had misused government-issued devices and databases, according to the news release.

Following his arrest, Brashear received a $10,000 unsecured bond.

A spokeswoman for the Town of Mooresville declined to say whether Brashear had been suspended or terminated as a result of the investigation and his arrest.

The MPD asks that anyone with additional information regarding Brashear’s conduct contact Captain Jaime Quinn at 704-664-3311.
