Mr. Kenneth Wayne Crosby, 63, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on February 7, 1961, and was the son of Doris Naomi White Crosby and the late Willie Gene Crosby. He passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centger in Winston-Salem. Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers Johnny Crosby and Randy Strickland.

He was a graduate of Statesville High School. His family and friends affectionately called him “KC.” He was an outgoing person and loved his family. KC loved baseball and to DJ. His favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins. KC was once employed at Bassett Furniture Company as a machine operator. He will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish the memory his life his loving mother, Doris Crosby; one daughter, Katisha Bowman of Statesville; one brother, Donald “Duck” Crosby of Statesville; three sisters, Sherry Daye Crosby, Valencia McDonald and Mary Strickland, all of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Lori Scott Crosby; grandchildren, Destiny Bowman, De’Ijha Thomas, Davion Thomas, Da’Vaija Thomas and Denovee Thomas; nephews and nieces, Jamel Scott, JaQuan Harris, Justice Scott, Janiya Scott, Jasmine Scott, Jalea Scott, Jermaine Crosby, Mario Scott, Kyla Strickland, Alea Strickland, Devon Strickland and Jeremy Strickland; special friends, Leandra Hayes and Cynthia Jones; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Pastor Doris Allison will officiate and Reverend Mary Scott will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.

Mr. Crosby will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. They will assemble at the residence at other times.
