Mr. Calvin Gill Jr., 84, was born in Mecklenburg County, N.C., on September 25, 1940, to the late Tom Gill and Lillie Mae Dixon. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gill; and sisters, Rebecca Ann Anderson and Alfreda Ingram; and children, Andrea Joyce Gill, Calvin Tyrone Gill, and Kiran Jarell Gill.

Calvin is survived by his wife Venessa Smith Gill of the home.

He attended 2 Ward High School, and was employed at PSEG Utility Company. Calvin will truly be missed.

In addition to his wife, Venessa S. Gill, he is survived by four sisters, Joan Baxter, Louise Bryant, Earnie Lee Mobley, and Sadie Mae Coleman; two stepdaughters, Taura Williams (Kendric) and Temeika Outley (Willie); a stepson, Jermaine Bethea (Tamara); seven grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Tereck Brown, Khaliff Gill, Imane Gill, Diamond Gill, Dana Gill, and Quron Gill; grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Terick Brown, Khaliff Gill, Imane Gill, Quron Gill, Quianna Bethea, Victoria Outley, James Outley, Tremaine Hobbs, Da’Zhon Bethea, and Jamaine Bethea Jr.; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
