The EnergyUnited Foundation awarded more than $187,000 to support local nonprofits and individuals in grave need across EnergyUnited’s service area during the third quarter 0f 2024.

Approximately $147,000 was distributed to individuals and families and $40,000 to four nonprofit organizations.

This quarter’s funding has supported nonprofits such as Pharos Parenting, Matthew 25 Ministries, Greater Things Outreach Center and Thomasville Community Ministry, which are working to uplift individuals and families facing challenges.

“The EnergyUnited Foundation plays a vital role in our efforts to deliver a brighter energy future,” said LaQuisha Parks, vice president of energy services and corporate communications at EnergyUnited. “By providing assistance to individuals and families in grave need and to nonprofits who provide housing, utilities and humane needs, we are directly contributing to the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation is a voluntary, member-funded non-profit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. More than 80,000 EnergyUnited members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. Each of these small contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the EnergyUnited Foundation to support needy individuals, families, and essential nonprofit organizations that complete an application explaining the reason and purpose for their requested grant.
