Blues sensation Vanessa Collier perform at the Iredell Arts Council on Monday, October 21. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Known for her powerful voice and prowess on the saxophone prowess, Collier released her sixth studio album, “Do It My Own Way,” on September 13. The album draws from the soulful sounds of Stax and Hi Records, particularly the Staples Singers.
With 12 Blues Music Award nominations and four wins, including the prestigious B.B. King Entertainer of the Year Award, Collier has solidified her place in the blues world. Drawing inspiration from soul greats like Mavis Staples and Aretha Franklin, she has crafted a distinctive style that bridges blues, soul and R&B.
Collier’s music continues to push the boundaries of genre and expression, uniting fans under a shared love for soul-infused blues and bringing a truly remarkable experience to the Iredell Arts Council.
