Senior Missionary Julia Mae Wilson, 93, of Troutman, N.C., departed this earthly life on Friday, October 25, 2024. She was born on May 17, 1931, in Iredell County to the late Deacon Avery and Mrs. Linnie Tucker Wilson.

Mother Wilson was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and the proudest great grandmother. She was a faithful member of Refuge Church of Christ, where she served as an usher, sang in the Senior Choir and loved being a Missionary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Sherman Wilson Sr.; and brothers, George Wilson, Tommie Lee Wilson, David Wilson, John Wilson Sr., and William Wilson; and sister, Betsy Wilson.

Those left to cherish fond memories include her grandson, Sherman Wilson Jr. (Michelle); a great granddaughter, Payton Wilson; her sisters, Jessie White and Amanda Norman (Charles), both of Troutman; a sister-in-law, Mary Frances Wilson; special niece, Marsha White (James); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Refuge Church of Christ. Elder Gerry Clarke will officiate, and Bishop Michael Saddler will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Park.
