Michael “Mike” Allen Blaney, 65, of Mooresville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2024. He was born on April 23, 1959, in Charleston, S.C., to the late William Blaney and Jackie Blaney Mazzell.

Mike was the owner/operator of A & B Automotive & Tire Center in Cornelius, N.C. He worked very hard to build his business, and has passed on the value of hard work to his children. Mike had an enormous heart and was always willing to help anyone. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He absolutely loved cooking for his family and friends. However, he never wanted anyone helping in “his” kitchen. His family will miss all the amazing food he made, from his amazing BBQ to his chicken salad and biscuits and gravy. He brought his family unfathomable joy that is eloquently engrained in who we are today.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Blaney.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Piervincenti Blaney; children, Rosa Somerville (Zach), John Blaney, Erin Blaney (Triston) and bonus children, Giana Dana and William Dana III; sisters, Kathy Abernethy (Earl) and Lisa Blaney; grandchildren, Savannah Somerville, Harper Somerville and Samantha Somerville; aunt Jean Stancell; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Blaney family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
