Special to IFN
A week after implementing heightened security protocols at a couple of football games, Iredell-Statesville Schools announced a new restriction for all high school athletic events.
Starting this week, I-SS will enforce a no bag policy at all games. This means no bags, including purses, tote bags, diaper bags, and backpacks, will be permitted. Guests who arrive at the gate with a bag of any size will be required to return their bags to their vehicles before entering an event.
School principals will provide direction for students participating in or attending events immediately after school, as appropriate.
Fans should still expect the same safety protocols in place as they visit each I-SS campus.
I appreciate the vigilance of our school administration but it is a shame they have to take this action.
Stupid. Clear bags only is what is needed.
Nothing is stupid when it comes to the safety of our children. And clear bags??? Males have pockets. They don’t carry bags. Deputize good men and women who carry guns legally.
AMEN, TO THAT!! It’s about time they think about our children for a change!!
