Betty Jean Parks Campbell, 96, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 21, 1927, in Iredell County, she was married to the late Jay Clinton Campbell for 75 years and was the daughter of the late William Jetter and Rettie Mitchell Parks. She and Jay spent many years caring for her father in their home.

Betty was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Statesville, where she was actively involved in the monthly widowed persons fellowship. She always enjoyed being around God’s children. Betty was a homemaker who always loved doing things for her family. She enjoyed cooking, coloring, and reading on her iPad; she constantly amazed everyone with her ability to navigate the device.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was also preceded in death by seven siblings and one grandson.

She is survived by four sons, Donald (Wanda) Campbell, Larry (Libby) Campbell, Teddy (Pam Nickerson) Campbell, and Rev. Kerby (Kelli) Campbell. She is also survived by six grandchildren, one step-grandchild, nine great grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, and two great great grandchildren. One brother, Vance Parks, and one sister, Rovena Eidson, also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Statesville. Rev. Randy Mitchell, Rev James Childress, Rev. John Parks, and Rev. Kerby Campbell will be the speakers. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 12 until 1:30 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given in Betty’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.
