Gracie Lake Norman Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is proud to announce an extraordinary achievement by its youth team at the Professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation World Championships held in Washington, D.C., on October 26.

Competing among elite athletes from 32 countries, five Lake Norman students (four teenagers and one adult) went undefeated to capture an impressive eight World Championship titles, earning Gold and Double Gold across their divisions.

At the heart of Gracie Lake Norman’s success is a unique, holistic training system that transforms students into champions both on and off the mat. Unlike typical sports programs, Gracie Lake Norman focuses on developing essential life skills alongside martial arts, teaching students resilience, self-discipline, communication, and emotional control. This emphasis on personal growth, coupled with high-level athletic training, has resulted in an exceptional win rate that continues to elevate the school’s standing in competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Led by Head Instructor Ranard Brown—an eight-time IBJJF NOGI Open Champion and currently ranked No. 5 worldwide in the IBJJF Masters Division—the Gracie Lake Norman team is guided by world-class coaches and life mentors. Students are invited to compete only after they demonstrate maturity, leadership, and personal accountability in school, at home, and within the academy.

The PBJJF World Championships serve as a capstone experience for those who have proven their dedication and mastery, allowing them to showcase their critical, strategic thinking and resilience developed through Gracie Lake Norman’s life and performance program.

This success is more than a victory on the mat; it represents Gracie Lake Norman’s dedication to empowering youth with lifelong skills. Parents, educators, and community members are encouraged to explore how Gracie Lake Norman Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is redefining youth development and helping to build tomorrow’s leaders.
