Tierra “GG” Fain Abernathy Curlee, 76, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. She was born on June 11, 1948 in Rowan County, N.C., to the late Oscar Abernathy and Velma Calloway Abernathy.

GG was a member of Laurel Memorial Church in Mooresville. She enjoyed going to the ball fields to watch her grandchildren play and met many wonderful friends along the way.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Tony Curlee, whom she loved dearly.

Those left to cherish GG’s memory are her grandson, Billy Calloway; granddaughter, Shanda Parker (David); sister, Deidre Abernathy; four great grandchildren; several extended family members, nieces, nephews, and neighbors she considered family.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, with Rev. Frank Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
