Merle Williams Seay, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 22, 1935, in Albermarle County, Va., to the late Stephen Hunter Williams and Elsie Hall Williams. Mrs. Seay was retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company after 32 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elva Williams Peele and Stephen H. Williams, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years and the love of her life, Russell Eugene Seay Sr.; son, Russell E. Seay Jr. (Susan); sister, Lee Ann Wright (Alvin); grandchildren, Victoria, Brandon, Henry (Elizabeth), and Riley; step grandchildren, Mia (Gino) and Tyler; great grandchildren, Desmond, Charleigh, Maverick, Sophie, and Margaret; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, November 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
